About
My Journey
My first yoga experience was with a Rodney Yee tape I checked out from the local library (this was before YouTube!). I was a high school senior looking for an exercise video to “get in shape” for prom, but what I found was so much more. I’ll never forget my first savasana, lying on the floor of my bedroom, feeling a deep sense of relaxation I had never known. The nervousness, anxiety, and stress I had carried simply melted away. In that moment, the seeds of mindfulness, equanimity, and inner peace were planted.
Yoga and meditation became my refuge in college, helping me navigate body image struggles, stress, anxiety and depression. Through my practice, I felt more connected to myself and others, stronger in both body and mind, and more open to life’s unfolding journey.
In 2010, I graduated with a degree in biology—a path I wasn’t sure I wanted to follow after all. At my boyfriend’s suggestion, I enrolled in Adventure Club, a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Rubber Soul Yoga in Athens, GA. I completed the program that December and immediately began teaching. Over the years, I’ve expanded my training, completing numerous continuing education workshops and earning certifications in Kids Yoga and Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga. I’ve taught a variety of classes, weaving mindfulness into each one. I enjoy crafting intentional class themes and moving more slowly and mindfully, allowing time to linger in transitions and feel the depth of each breath and sensation.
In 2015, I was called to explore meditation more deeply and began offering a weekly Meditation Meetup in my hometown. Every Wednesday evening, I shared a variety of guided meditations and gentle breathing practices to introduce people to the practice of meditation and to help them find inner stillness. I also taught Intro to Meditation workshops through my local Parks & Recreation Department and Library.
After a pause in teaching due to the pandemic, a cross-country move (twice!), and becoming a mother, I felt a deep pull to return. In 2022, I began uploading guided meditation recordings to the Insight Timer app and by 2024, I was teaching guided meditation via livestream. My passion for meditation extends to pets, and I now lead live meditation events designed to help people and their pets connect through stillness. I also offer a pet meditation course.
In February 2025, I enrolled in a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training, a Mindfulness Teacher Certification, and a Mindful Eating Certification, to refresh and expand my understanding of these practices. I’m eager to bring this deeper wisdom into my teaching and share these practices in a way that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit.
In my spare time, you can find me listening to wellness podcasts, exploring new playgrounds with my toddler, or cuddling with my cat.
The Story Behind
The Still Mind Sanctuary
The Still Mind Sanctuary was born from a desire to create a space where peace, mindfulness, and stillness could be cultivated—whether you're navigating the stresses of daily life, seeking deep relaxation, or looking to connect more fully with yourself and others. The name Still Mind Sanctuary reflects both the calm and clarity that meditation and yoga have brought into my life, as well as my belief that these practices can help anyone discover their own inner sanctuary.
For years, I’ve been on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth through the practices of yoga and meditation. These tools helped me through difficult chapters in life, from body image struggles and stress to motherhood and the complexities of daily life. I wanted to share these transformative experiences with others, to offer them a path to finding the same inner peace that has been so vital in my own life.
In 2025, the idea of the Still Mind Sanctuary truly took shape. I envisioned a place where people—whether beginners or seasoned practitioners—could come together to nurture their bodies, minds, and spirits. A sanctuary, in the truest sense, where stillness isn't just a concept but an experience—a space to slow down, reconnect, and embrace the quiet moments within.
Through guided meditations, live events, in-depth courses, custom guided meditations, and yoga classes (coming soon!), I’ve crafted a space where you can step away from the chaos of the world and into your own inner calm. At the Still Mind Sanctuary, it’s not about perfection—it’s about presence. It’s about creating space for yourself, feeling grounded, and discovering the stillness within that allows you to reconnect with your true self.
I believe that everyone deserves to feel peaceful, grounded, and at ease in their own bodies and minds. It’s my deepest intention to help guide you on this journey, whether you’re here for a moment of relaxation or to begin a lifelong practice of mindfulness and meditation.
Thank you for being here.
